A new year! New challenges!
Superteam Japan’s 2025 has started. Since its launch in May of last year, it could be said that it has been a year in which Solana has solidified its footing in Japan. And this year we are making a big move. We will make full-scale mass adoption of Solana in Japan.
Country Lead Hisashi Oki has set three major goals for the New Year.
And Superteam Japan announced “Winter Arc Matsumoto” as the first big event of 2025.
This attracts people from all over the world to attractive Japanese regional cities, and builders concentrate on development in an environment completely different from Tokyo. The one-week stay program allows participants to fully experience the culture and traditions of a local city and use it as inspiration for development.
Starting with Winter Arc Matsumoto, Superteam Japan will be taking on a number of challenges this year in line with these big goals.
In order to realize our big challenges, we must start by taking one action every day. Let’s take a look at this month’s activities.

The first event of 2025 was a local community AMA by SonicSVM. New inflows to Superteam Japan Discord accelerated as $SONIC was given away through a lottery from participants.
The AMA had over 100 participants, making it a great success. Thank you to the speaker Chris for explaining Sonic so clearly!
We would also like to thank Sonic for their consistent and unwavering support of the Superteam Japan community, even after the AMA!
Superteam Japan member Ebi planned a community event using the fitness app Moonwalk. Community Lead Camao was the sponsor and provided the prizes.
It was an event where prizes were distributed to participants who walked 5,000 steps every day over a five-day period from January 6th to January 10th.
Of the 11 people who participated, 9 people completed the mission! During the event, participants encouraged each other, making it an event that strengthened the cohesiveness of the community.
Continuing from last month, we collaborated with SBI VC Trade, one of Japan’s famous exchanges. We have carried out a project to give away a special Solana NFT to commemorate the New Year.
The NFT art was created by Rock No.6 of Tokyo Stupid Games, who also participated in the Radar hackathon from Japan.
The powerful art with a futuristic feel was very well received.
An AMA with Solana Name Service (SNS) was held on Superteam Japan Discord. The participants were greatly inspired by CEO Aom’s passionate talk about SNS and Solana, and SNS gained many fans even in a short time.
After the AMA, many people started acquiring .sol domains.
We have started planning an online event that combines a workshop and a competition, led by Jito, Forma, Superteam Vietnam, and Superteam Japan.
The workshop attracted more than 1,000 participants as it was a rare opportunity to receive instruction from Jito’s core members.
The teams that won the Round 1 Pitch held on January 21st are preparing for the Final Battle on February 12th.
We have announced the first big event of 2025 by Superteam Japan!
After holding several events in Tokyo, participants moved to the main city of Matsumoto in Nagano Prefecture, where they focused on business development in an environment surrounded by nature and culture, a project that lasted a total of two weeks.
From activities such as skiing and snowboarding in Hakuba, where the 1998 Nagano Olympics were held, to the traditions and art of national treasure Matsumoto Castle and Yayoi Kusama (born in Matsumoto City), these experiences are sure to inspire new developments.
We are already attracting excellent builders and mentors from all over the world!
Solana New Year’s Party was held in Tokyo with the support of amazing projects in the Solana ecosystem: Bonk, Jupiter, Orca, NATIX, Sonic, and Backpack.
It was a great success with over 160 participants including founders, builders, users, and exchange officials.
BONK presented the participants with $BONK New Year’s gifts, which was a big surprise.
You can watch the special movie from the post below to see the venue full of BONK’s world view!
A Jupiter Mobile activation event was also held during the New Year’s party! Many users were immediately drawn to the app’s ease of use.
We held an AMA at X Space with Huma Finance, one of the top projects in the PayFi field, which is attracting attention along with stable coins.
This is an important project that has the potential to become a new infrastructure in the fields of finance and trade, and participants listened with excitement to the revolution in payments and financial transactions that utilize blockchain.
Thank you to Erbil for being the main speaker and to JC for his support!
Superteam Japan has announced “Trend Hack”, a mini-hackathon that will be held regularly in 2025.
The first theme of this event, which aims to match trending themes, is “AI Agent.”
Surprisingly, we were sponsored by SendAI, the project that provides the Solana Agent Kit. Thank you!
As a builder event that you can easily participate in, we will increase the number of Solana builders in Japan through Trend Hack.
President Trump launched $TRUMP on Solana and became a hot topic around the world. Just before he took office as President, We held an AMA with Crypto Youtuber Joe Takayama as a guest.
The topics covered a wide range of topics, including the behind-the-scenes story of the Trump token launch, the technical story of the Solana chain that processed a large number of transactions without any problems, and a new era for the United States and Crypto.
An audience of over 300 people gathered and it was a good opportunity to highlight the superiority of the Solana chain.
Yuki from Superteam Japan Member/Metaplex Japan held a study session on the theme of AI agents on Superteam Japan’s Discord.
The first half was an explanation of AI agents, which even non-engineers could learn from, and the second half was a hands-on program for engineers.
There were more than 30 participants, and we were able to set a great tone for the upcoming AI agent-themed Trend Hack.
Yuki will also be holding an AI agent development training camp in February, aiming to further strengthen Japan’s engineers.
Ebi, a Superteam Japan member, has planned another Moonwalk event! This time, Soylana Japan—a platform that curates and shares carefully researched Solana information in Japanese—sponsored the event by providing the prize.
The mission was to achieve 10,000 steps every day for 5 days from January 22nd to January 26th, and 11 out of 16 people achieved this goal! !
It’s a good event that helps the community improve their health while having fun together.
We held a Meetup event in collaboration with Google Cloud Japan.
From Superteam Japan, Hisashi Oki from Country Lead, 256hax from DevRel, and yuki from Member/Metaplex Japan took the stage as speakers.
From a basic explanation of the Solana ecosystem, participants were given the latest information on Solana game development such as Metaplex and Honeycomb.
Many new connections were made with the participants through the networking event, and the results of the post-event participant survey showed that the event had a very high level of satisfaction.
An event was held to study the teams that achieved excellent results in the AI hackathon organized by maff. The participants were engaged in an enthusiastic conversation as the content was related to Trend Hack.
Superteam Japan is supported by such autonomous members, and the community is thriving.
Developer Hub, which was held every month last year, will continue to educate Solana builders in Japan in 2025.
This time’s theme is
We tried multi-channel distribution on Youtube, X, and Discord, and as a result, as many as 40 people participated in real time.
A women-only event “Girls Onchain vol.1” was held for women interested in Web3. Superteam Japan supported this event, and multiple members were involved as organizers and participants.
Hisashi Oki from Country Lead took to the stage to talk about Solana.
We succeeded in promoting Solana greatly at the event, such as by preparing Solana cake.
In the first half of next month, we will focus on Trend Hack, a new event for builders organized by Superteam Japan, and work to create opportunities for promising builders to develop with Solana.
We have already received 60 entries and it is very lively!

In addition, in order to approach builders outside of the Crypto, we will also co-host an international hackathon event called Builders Weekend.
Several Superteam Japan members will participate as mentors, discovering excellent builders, and aiming to increase the number of Solana developers from outside the Crypto field.
We are also working to support the younger generation of developers. We will co-host the ideathon for students to be held in March, and support them with the Superteam Japan Award and as mentors.
Of course, we will also be working on events other than those for builders!
We will once again be co-hosting the futsal event that was well received two months ago with Murasaki.
We are looking forward to creating new interactions through the futsal!
Superteam Japan Members are increasingly expanding their range of activities in various fields, contributing to Crypto media that is famous in Japan, and increasing their exposure to events.
