**Monthly Report: Expanding Solana developer community in Japan through the Radar Hackathon**
Since September, Superteam Japan has been fully committed to supporting Japanese teams participating in the Radar Hackathon. Up until the final submission date, we hosted Build Stations to encourage Japan’s promising builders to join. This resulted in an impressive increase in the number of Japanese teams, growing from just 5 teams in the previous hackathon to 58 teams this time. This more than tenfold rise clearly highlights the rapid expansion of the Solana ecosystem in Japan.

Our ongoing Build Station initiative held its first event outside Tokyo, this time in Fukuoka, attracting local, passionate builders. Despite the deadline fast approaching, multiple teams completed and submitted their projects to the Radar Hackathon. Day one included beginner-friendly lectures on Web3 and Solana, while day two was dedicated to hands-on project refinement, supporting even hackathon newcomers in completing their submissions.
In Tokyo, we simultaneously hosted another Build Station, featuring Terry, Head of Strategy at Eclipse, and Fabio, Co-founder of GLAM, as mentors. Participants eagerly engaged with advice from leading Solana experts. Wilguish from Wormhole also hosted a virtual workshop that connected the Tokyo and Fukuoka venues, offering essential support to Japanese teams in the Radar Hackathon.
Our final Build Station, held just before the Radar Hackathon deadline, took place over two days in a Tokyo co-working space. Participants worked diligently, putting finishing touches on their projects up until the submission cut-off.
We held an appreciation event for SuperTokyo, Japan’s largest Solana conference, which drew over 1,000 attendees in August. This gathering brought together industry professionals involved in blockchain across Japan, fostering new connections to support Solana’s future development in Japan.
The 10th Solana Developer Hub event, held online, provided an insightful study session on Metaplex Aura and Pyth Network, with strong attendance and lively discussions.
Camao(Superteam Japan Community Lead), hosted an online recap presentation of Breakpoint through Discord Live and X Space. He shared the latest information from Solana’s largest event with community members, also encouraging them to attend next year’s Breakpoint in Dubai.
In collaboration with Blockchain Lures, we celebrated the first anniversary of the Fish to Earn app on the Solana blockchain with a bass fishing tournament. With support from Japan’s crypto exchange, Bitpoint, prize money in SOL drew significant attention on social media, showcasing a glimpse of how blockchain can integrate into real-world activities in Japan.
